U.S. farmland has demonstrated its importance as both an economic and environmental asset. According to USDA and NCREIF data:
- The USDA estimates net farm income (NFI) will rise this year, signaling improved fundamentals across the agricultural sector
- Historically, periods of higher farm income have aligned with stronger farmland values
Farmland also benefits from its finite nature and essential role in food production. As population growth and urban expansion reduce the availability of high-quality acreage, productive farms have become increasingly important resources for both communities and investors.
